Scumbag of the Week 8: Todd S. Purdum & The Comeback Id

Sorry about the back-to-back SOTW posts, but this one came to us courtesy of Bill Clinton.
Seems like he was just a littleupset at Purdum’s latest article in Vanity Fair entitled ‘The Comeback Id’ .  When asked about the article, Clinton called Purdum “sleazy”, “a real slimy guy”, and (a blandlife favorite) ”a scumbag”.
Funny, we use those same [...]

Never Enough

I’m dusting off my black eye-liner and Doc Martens and getting ready for tomorrow’s Cure concert in SLC.  (Okay, so perhaps not my Docs, I don’t seem to have those anymore)
While I know that Tai-Pan is not quite as excited as I am to see The Cure, he has agreed to join me; all he [...]

Bill Cosby Strikes Again?

This isn’t new to us; we have heard Bill Cosby call out the Black community before.  He’s gone so far as saying Black children who cannot read and write “are going nowhere”.  He has a message for Black men to “stop beating up your women” and criticizes the culture for “babies [who] are wearing $40 sneakers [...]

Here’s Bruce’s take — can you tell I’m a big fan of his these [...]

Jimmy Buffett In Phoenix

Yesterday, Jimmy Buffett held a free private show for a couple thousand fans at the Grand Opening of one of his newest Margaritaville restaurants.  The hour-long show was held at Glendale’s Westgate City Center and was aired live on the Sirius Margaritaville station.

(Big screen allowed for close-ups … and to later enjoy footage of Jimmy [...]

The “8″ They Love To Hate

“How bad is it for Kobe? In a 2004-05 season in which Kobe averaged 27.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists, P.J. Brown — yes, you read right — received more MVP votes than he did, and Bryant received only one vote. How many games did the Hornets win that year? 18….
Is it right? Fair? [...]
